Safety - Managing Our Business to Ensure No One Gets Hurt and No Harm Comes to the Environment
Our customers count on our safe work performance. We demand it of ourselves, and we work tirelessly to ensure that our people have the training and tools they need to make sure every day is a safe day.
For example, we provide extensive cross-training of employees so that they understand multiple aspects of complex tasks, not just their own piece of the puzzle. In addition, employees are trained to identify and assess potential risk through a behavior-based safety process and communicate any concerns to management. Our goal is to achieve employee ownership and participation in the HSE continual improvement process. And we give every employee the authority to stop a job at any time if work conditions are unsafe or if a particular action would be environmentally harmful.
Focus on Quality
Our focus on quality operations management underpins our health, environmental and safety commitment, ensuring that our clients receive the best possible, most efficient, incident-free service.
A&W Water Service has a HSE Management System that was developed by and reflects the input of each of its business units. Employees are trained in-house by qualified facilitators in a customized training program where they gain a comprehensive understanding of our HSE expectations and requirements.
HSE Management System
A&W Water Service measures effectiveness of its HSE Management System through regular site safety audits, corporate business unit audits, customer audits and regulatory audits. Management participates with employees in site safety audits and safety meetings; during these processes, employees have the opportunity to provide direct feedback on continual improvement initiatives.
A&W Service views safety as a value that is incorporated into every facet of the company's operation. As a result of this effort, the company is able to demonstrate continual statistical improvement.
